Two Different Colored Shoes Day Sounds Like Punky Brewster Day to Me
It's National Two Different Colored Shoes Day! Today you’re supposed to recognize and celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of humanity.
Yeah, that’s fine but I like to call it....PUNKY BREWSTER Day. Remember the TV series starring Soleil Moon Frye. Yes kids, that was her name, I think her parents were second generation Hippies. Here's the opening theme song.
The show ran on NBC from 1984 to 1986 and again in first-run syndication from 1987 to 1988. They made her a cartoon too. Punky was a homeless kid, abandoned by her parents, she came to live with an old man named Henry, she had a best friend named Cherie, and a dog named Brandon. Punky wore some very colorful outfits with mix-matched shoes and socks and everything. There was even a Punky Doll. They still sell them on Ebay. Check out the different colored shoes!
It was supposed to be a haphazard fashion statement, but now that I look back at her, Punky was a well put together kid. So let your Punky out today and wear some colorful funk!
