I love the Texas Toll roads.   I can drive 85!!!   You know I never even thought about trying to get out of paying the toll, that’s why I have a TxTag.  Well apparently there are some people who never pay their tolls, and the state of Texas is telling on them. The Texas Department of Transportation says violators owe nearly $27 million in unpaid tolls. They just released a list of the worst 25 toll violators.

At the top of the list,  a Pflugerville man and woman who owe the state $236,026.32.  Over 236 thousand dollars!!!!  SAY WHAT???  The couple used the toll roads over 14 thousand times without paying.

A vehicle owned by two Hutto residents is second at $217,619.79.  A total of 16 offenders have more than $100,000 in unpaid tolls each.

A new Senate Bill made it okay to release the names, so now everybody knows.

So what happens now?  The names will be sent to law enforcement agencies and county tax assessors.  If pulled over, a violator could be fined and have their vehicles impounded. County tax assessors can also block the vehicle registration renewal.

Are you getting scared?  Motorists with unpaid tolls can contact the TxTag Customer Service Center at (888) 468-9824 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays. A negotiated settlement amount may be offered as well as a payment plan, if needed.
