The City of Killeen Community Development Division will be conducting a homeless street count Thursday, January 23.   They need that data for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Survey data is important for measuring chronic homelessness, increasing public awareness, improving services, and applying for federal and private funding.

Data gathered will include the number of people who are experiencing homelessness, their gender and age ranges. Personal information will not be collected.

Volunteers are needed to gather the information.  Call 501-7847 if you would like to help.

Volunteers will meet at the HELP Center, 718 N. 2nd Street, Suite B, to get instructions and materials. The first shift will meet at 7:30 a.m., and the second shift will begin at 10:30 a.m.
