The Chick-fil-a golden cup is part of the restaurant chain’s “Newstalgia” campaign that kicked off on January 5, looking back at the restaurant’s history while looking to the future. Winning cards in golden cups, will earn the purchaser free Chick-fil-a for a year, broken down as 52 free entrées redeemable at participating restaurants.

On its Facebook page February 19, Chick-fil-a Baylor University on 7th Street in Waco shared several pictures of a young boy named Crew who won the coveted golden cup in the chain's Golden Fan Cup Sweepstakes. In addition to having a new collector’s cup, Crew will also receive a year’s worth of free food.

How Does the Contest Work?

According to the Chick-fil-a website, four retro style cups will be released every few weeks, each with a design from the restaurant’s past. Customers enter the sweepstakes by buying a collectible cup that contains a card insert indicating if they scored a golden cup.3,000 Golden Cups are distributed nationwide.

What’s Ahead for Chick-fil-a Customers?

The “Newstalgia” campaign has more goodies up its sleeve. Frosted sodas and floats will join the permanent menu. The original chicken sandwich will receive new limited-time retro packaging, inspired by earlier designs. In a nod to everyone’s favorite cows, customers will be able to buy brand new Specialty Plush Cows exclusively at Chick-fil-a restaurants. Online, customers will find a variety of Newstalgia-themed merchandise throughout 2026 on shop.chick-fil-a.com.
