Waco Police are warning the public about the dangers of meeting online dating partners after 3 people were shot early Monday, including one man who lost his life.

According to a post made to the Waco Police Department's Facebook page, authorities believe the 3 shootings, which all took place within hours of each other, share a common thread: the victims used a social media dating site to arrange a meeting.

The first shooting took place at 12:30 AM Monday near a store at North New Road and Bosque Boulevard, where the victim was shot at another location but drove to the store for help.

The second shooting occurred at about 1:40 AM at North 34th Street and Brook Circle, where emergency responders found a vehicle crashed into a pole and a 23-year-old man unresponsive. He would later die at the hospital.

The third shooting happened near North 36th and Grim at around 6:15 AM, where a man was found with a gunshot wound.

Police have not released the identities of the victims, and they have not made any arrests at this time.

While police did not identify which social media dating site in particular the victims were using, citing that the investigation is still ongoing, they are reminding the public to remain vigilant and to arrange any meeting or dates in public places. Be careful out there, folks.
