Waco, Texas is home to an organization that specializes in baiting and trapping would be pedophiles and then confronting them on video in an effort to monetize the outing the suspects, generally via Facebook live posts. At least, on paper they like to claim their motivation is protecting vulnerable children, but local authorities have been concerned with not everything being as it appears.

The McClennan County Sheriff's Office has actually been investigating this organization called Waco Ped Patrol for around a half of a year because of what they described as troubling actions and their belief that the group's tactics have been escalating in an unsafe manner. Texas law enforcement is incredibly clear that it is always best to leave the policing up to them.

Waco, Texas Activist Now Under Arrest For Unlawful Restraint

According to this KCEN article, Akylon Benson, who claims to be the leader and executive director of Waco Ped Patrol, was seen in a video to be unlawfully restricting the movement of a subject, or more or less placing them under arrest without the authority to do so. If you detain or imprison someone, even if you believe they are guilty of a crime, you have effectively committed kidnapping from a legal standpoint.

Benson was arrested after a thorough investigation, and at the time of his arrest he was in possession of a knife which was a violation of previous charge and bond.
