Go ahead and add another nickname to the list for George Strait! The 'King of Country' is also the 'Texan of the Year'!

The annual Texas Legislative Conference was held Friday in New Braunfels. The group has been honoring exceptional Texans since 1974 according to KCEN-TV.

Strait's efforts to raise awareness and funds for the victims of Hurricane Harvey began immediately as the storm made landfall. Working with country musicians like Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, Strait helped to raise millions of dollars to help rebuild the area.
