What I’m Thankful For — Nov. 11
Today I'm thankful for those who have faithfully served our country, most of all my dad.
My dad served in the Marine Corps during the conflict in Vietnam. It's not something that he talks about very much. I'm sure there are plenty of moments that he would rather forget, but today is a day that we are all remembering.
We remember the service that they gave to help keep our nation free. Service that included great sacrifice. The men and women who choose to serve our country give their time, energy and intelligence to something that's greater than themselves.
They choose to spend less time with their friends and family, so that we can choose to spend our time any way we want.
This month I'm giving thanks for big things and little things, but today I'm giving thanks for the greatest of them all a freedom that my helped to preserve. Thanks, dad.
