UPDATE: KWTX reports that Copperas Cove police have shut down westbound U.S. 190 toward Lampasas. They have not said when it might reopen.

We have experienced icy road conditions in Temple as well, though we've received no word of closures here or in Belton.

The Salvation Army of Temple, 419 West Avenue G, has opened a warming station. If you know someone in need of warm shelter, please advise them to visit.

The Killeen Community Center, 2201 East Veterans Memorial Blvd, is also open to those in need of shelter.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Bell County until 9 PM this evening.

Freezing drizzle is not out of the question this evening as below freezing temperatures have been part of the weather outside most of the day today. Killeen, Temple, and Cove all saw light rain throughout the day, and any water left on the roadways is becoming slippy.
