According to the Killeen Daily Herald, a Class A misdemeanor perjury warrant was issued for Leah Dure on February 23rd for what police allege were false statements she made in which she claimed she was injured during her public intoxication arrest.

Dure claimed that she had been pulled from the passenger seat of a vehicle in the parking lot of Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights in the early morning hours of New Year's Day and arrested. Dure would further claim that she was slammed to the ground by a HHPD officer, and shared photos of her injuries on social media through her then attorney S. Lee Merritt.

HHPD Police Chief Mike Gentry held a press conference a few days later, where HHPD released body cam, dash cam, and other footage of the incident that clearly contradicted Dure's account.

Dure surrendered herself to the Garland Police Department on Monday and was later released on $5,000 bond.
