You could receive up to a year of free child-care and here's how!

Times have been extremely hard since the start of the pandemic for working parents. Many had to quit their job to ensure that their children were being taken care of during normal school hours; while some parents had to sacrifice and spend an excessive amount of money for child care. if the pandemic didn't teach us anything it taught us that access to reliable and affordable child care is hard to come by.

According to KXXV, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas said childcare is another massive hurdle many parents still struggle to overcome. This obstacle has caused an increase in job openings all over the CTX and has greatly affected our economy.

So what is going to be done about it?

Workforce Solutions of Central Texas is working hard to ensure that parents in the CTX catch a break when it comes to affording child care. With their child care services initiative (CCS) parents can attend courses or work by receiving access to subsidized daycare services, information about trusted providers, and referrals to other resources.

Did you know that there are more than three times as many children as there are care facilities? According to the CCS website, 48% of people who live in TX stay in a child care desert but the program is working to fix that.

To receive assistance from the CCS you must first read the guidelines, then meet all of the qualifications, and lastly fill out an application online.

The list of qualifications are as followed:

You may qualify if you can say YES to the following questions:

Do you live in one of the following counties? Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills, San Saba
Do you: work at least 25 hours per week or; go to school full-time or; work and go to school combined for at least 25 hours per week?
Do you meet Workforce Solutions’ family income guidelines?
