Hi everyone! This is Rita checking in from The Music Fest in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It has been a very busy, music filled week so far to say the least.

Houston McCoy, one of the men who stopped University of Texas Tower sniper Charles Whitman, has passed away at the age of 72.

Rolling Stone has announced their pick of the five best country albums of 2012, and the list leans traditional. New projects by Kellie Pickler, Jamey Johnson and Texas country band JB and the Moonshine Band made the cut, which was revealed on the magazine's website on Friday (Dec. 7).
