Police in Austin say a 12-year-old boy is facing several charges after running from the cops and crashing a vehicle into a utility pole. The vehicle came to a stop upside down.

The boy was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. Things could have turned out much worse as police say the boy also ran head on into another vehicle along the way.

Police responded to a call around 7:45am Monday about a car weaving in and out of traffic. When they located the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over, the boy drove off. The 12-year-old hit another vehicle then kept going before crashing into the pole and turning the vehicle over. Thankfully, the other people involved in the accident did not get seriously injured.

Below is the Austin Police Department press conference regarding the crash. The boy is charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop after the first car crash, and for evading police.
