18-Wheeler and Driver’s Body Pulled from Lake Texoma
It took about 5 days but early this morning search teams managed to recover an 18-wheeler along with the body of the driver from Lake Texoma after a fiery wreck that happened around 2 pm last Thursday.
KXII and KWTX report that divers went into Texoma lake to attached flotation devices and a tow line to the truck that plunged off Rosevelt Bridge. The crash happened last Thursday after the 18-wheeler collided with another vehicle on the bridge. The truck and the driver's body were brought up about 2:30 am this morning.
News 10 reports the 18-wheeler collided with a Chevrolet Cavalier and crashed through the guardrail over the side of the bridge on U.S Highway 70. The truck went over the side of the bridge carrying about 27,000 pounds of paint.
The driver of the Cavalier died in the crash, and the driver of the 18-wheeler was presumed dead until his body was officially discovered still inside the cabin of the truck down in the water.
