The program, aptly titled National Math Stars, brings to light those in the United States who are exceptional at math. But for these young stars to earn the title, they had to be selected from a starting group of 88.

Out of those 88, five made it to final stage. And of those five, Aayana Jain and Rosalynn “Rosie” Canto claimed the title of Math Star.
How Did Aayana And Rosalynn React To Winning?
In statements to KCEN, Aayana and Rosalynn both expressed happiness at the recognition. Aayana looked at the award as a chance to further her dream of being in the medical field:
“Being strong in math will help me calculate the right medicine or prepare for an operation."
As for Rosalynn, the award showed why she loves the subject:
What I enjoy most about math are the challenges...I love solving the hard stuff so I can get better. I also like failing because it teaches us new things.”
Congratulations to Aayana and Rosalynn!
