Did Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert Really Reunite in Nashville

There are some posts going around Facebook about how Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert reunited at a charity concert to sing together. There were some photos and a few videos in the post. It's stirring the emotions of country music fans everywhere, but is it legit?

So, what's going on?

Not one country music news outlet has picked this up. Not one fan video has surfaced from the event. The "new" video clips posted around the same time as the Facebook post are actually from a concert they performed in 2013, and the photos attached appear to be AI generated as well.

Fake News Is Getting Better

AI can now produce super-realistic photos and video like we've never seen before. These AI generated photos and videos aren't obvious, and that makes it much easier for someone to post a fake post that can go viral.

Misinformation Spreads Easily

Once a fake post is made publicly available it can start to go viral in minutes. Throw in the fact that the post is about people like Blake and Miranda and people will share it before bothering to verify if it's true or not.

No Source = No Story

If something substantial happened between Blake and Miranda an entity like CMT, Taste of Country, or even Blake's own Instagram would have covered the story. Yet, as of the publishing of this article there is nothing. BIG RED FLAG.

What Can You Do?

Before you take a leap of faith and believe the crazy celebrity story, ask yourself:
Is it from a verified source?
Are there multiple iterations?
Can you find a full video or news article?
Do the photos look kind of legitimate?
If you answer "no" to any of these, it's probably fake.

Right now, it seems Blake and Miranda are "reuniting" on old YouTube videos and in an AI fantasy land.
