The month of October boasts not one, but two full moons.

According to a report from the Farmer's Almanac, the first full moon of October will take take place on the 1st.  Luckily for us, another full moon makes it way just 30 days later on All Hallows' Eve.

When a month has two full moons, the second full moon is usually dubbed as a "Blue Moon." While the moon won't actually appear to be blue, the name highlights its rare occurrence. Blue moons usually occur every 2 and a half to 3 years, and a blue moon will fall on Halloween about every 19 years.

That means the next time you'll see a blue moon on Halloween will probably be in the years 2039, 2058, 2077, and 2096.

The first full moon of October isn't forgotten though, because its actually the Harvest Moon. The Harvest Moon is the Moon that occurs closest to the start of autumn.

If you want to see the Blue Moon at its peak, then keep your eyes to the sky Halloween morning at 11:51 AM CT. The moon will still appear to be full that night as well, so no worries if you miss it that morning.

Thanks 2020! I will definitely be bopping along to this song that night.
