Temple, Texas like so many places in in the Lone Star State has seen a surge in growth recently, and has doubled in population since 2000. There is a brand new community kitchen now open in temple called Cafe Soleil, and just like its name suggests, it provides a sunny spot for people who might be going through some darker times. It is a new project with Feed My Sheep with a goal to provide quality food for those who need it most.
Where is the new Cafe Soleil located in Temple?
According to this KCEN article, the kitchen is located at 611 South 3rd Street, just south of downtown Temple. The meals will be donation only, but the benefits go well beyond the food.
People will be able to train in how to work a kitchen, and those skills will assist in their future employment prospects.
What type of food will Cafe Soleil serve?
You can expect a seasonal rotation of menu items that are specifically designed to complement the local Texas agriculture. This will allow for the freshest ingredients to make it to your plate and lets local growers partner with the extra worthy cause.
You are invited to the soft launch this Friday evening and during the day on Saturday. It will be a great opportunity to learn more, get involved, or donate to the mission.
