Boerne, Texas High School Wins Big Money from Metallica
Texas marching bands are certainly some of the best in the nation.
With such a big state as the Lone Star State, there's many students that take the field musically. We've all seen a band perform at halftime at a high school football game right? It's truly takes a lot of talent to perform as well.
Why do I know this? Well, I did 9 years of marching band. Four years in high school in Georgia, and five years as part of the Million Dollar Band at the University of Alabama (don't hold it against me!) So I understand the time and effort it takes to put a show together.
But when the show they put together has the chance to win money, the effort is doubled, sometimes tripled. For one band in Texas, the time put into a show dedicated to a famous band was well worth it.

One Texas High School Band Rocks Their Way To The Top
Back in 2023, Metallica, yes THE Metallica, put out the call to marching bands across the USA. They wanted to see the best performances of their music out on the field, with marching bands as the feature.
After the narrowing down of entrants, Boerne High School found itself in the top five for the Medium High School category. Out of the five finalists, Metallica themselves made the choice. Wouldn't you know it, they selected Boerne High School as the winner!
Not only that, another school from New York won, bringing two winners in the category. So first off congrats to Boerne High School on the victory and the $15,000 prize! But, there's only one way to close out the victory, let's enjoy the winning show!
