Boil Water Notice for Parts of Killeen Today (October 10)

A BOIL WATER NOTICE is issued for the following Killeen areas today, October 10 starting at 7 am.

214 and 302 Cloud Street

215 to 309 Washington Street (odd numbers)

302 and 304 Washington Street

City crews will be replacing a water valve and must turn off the water in order to complete the work.  Water service will not be available from approximately 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Once the valve installation is complete, lines will be flushed and water samples will be tested.

Residents in the affected locations are cautioned to BOIL ALL WATER BEFORE CONSUMING beginning at 7 a.m. October 10.  Residents will be notified when the boil water notice is lifted.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and for making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.
