Let's face it—most of us don't even know what mistletoe actually looks like, let alone have experienced it in its freshly growing state. Rest assured mistletoe is an actual plant that grows in the wild, as Brett Young proved with a social media post on Wednesday (Nov. 28).

"Real life mistletoe," the singer boasted on his Instagram photo, showing off a bunch of the greenery hanging from a Mississippi tree—and, yes, indulging in the time-honored holiday tradition of giving a kiss underneath. The lucky girl getting the smooch is his new wife, Taylor Mills, whom he married earlier this month.

It's no surprise the kiss was captured in Oxford, Miss., as Young proposed to Mills at the Graduate Hotel in that very town in February. That location is special because it's near Ole Miss, where Young went to college.

The pair met while Mills was attending school a few states over, at Arizona State University. They dated for six years, but broke up when Young moved to Nashville to pursue a music career. That unhappy break had a silver lining, as he used the heartbreaking experience to write many of the songs on his self-titled debut album—and, as anyone can see, their story had a very happy ending!

Young is just about to release his sophomore album, Ticket to L.A., on Dec. 7. He recently released "Here Tonight" as the album's first single, and he's also let fans hear the title song. He will hit the road with Kelsea Ballerini on her Miss Me More Tour in 2019.
