The Most Popular Wedding Months

If you were to ask me which month is the most popular for weddings, I would say, June. And I would be wrong. According to Brides.com, the following are the most popular months for wedding ceremonies.

6. August

9% of weddings fall within the month of August. According to Brides.com, August offers the same benefits of June and July, but the possibility of hurricanes in the south and on the east coast is a turnoff for many. August is also one of the hottest summer months in the south and midwest.

5. July

According to The Wedding Report, July is the fifth most popular month for weddings at 9.6%. July provides great lighting, longer days, and flowers that are in season. July is also a month where many take off from work. The downside of July is that it is hotter than in June.

4. May

10.9% of weddings happen in May. Spring is a great time to get married due to weather that is not too hot or too cold. Booking hotels is also easier because the vacation season has not yet kicked in.

3. June

June is the third most popular month for getting hitched at 12.5%. The perks of a June wedding are longer days, cooler temperatures and less humidity in many areas, and travel flexibility.

2. September

Wow. My wedding anniversary falls within the month that takes second place! According to Brides.com, 13.6 % of weddings happen during this month. September is a great month for weddings because depending on where you are located, you could go with a summer theme or a fall theme.

1. October

According to The Wedding Report, three in twenty weddings are scheduled in October at 14.9 percent. Fall is my favorite season because it signifies change and it is filled with beautiful colors. Cooler weather also makes October the perfect month for an outside wedding.
