Centex Firefighters Show Support After Tennessee Tragedy
You may have seen the story of Firefighter Jason Dickey in the news this week. Jason died in the line of duty in Lawrenceburg, Tennesse on Monday night. His story has touched firefighters nation-wide, as well as here in Central Texas.
While the community of Lawrenceburg is supporting Jason's family in Tennessee, their friends and family have reached out online to help in other ways. An idea started social media for wives of firefighters to send a shirt from their husbands' departments to the family of Jason Dickey. The shirts will be stitched together as blankets for Jason's family. The sweet gesture will allow Jason's kids to see how firefighters from all over the country are thinking of them and their father.
Here in Central Texas, Firefighter Cole Eason with Temple Fire and Rescue included a shirt in the photo below and sent it off to Jason's family.
The best part of the story is that the Dickey Family has received so many shirts so far that they have enough to make blankets for each of Jason's children and his wife Jennifer.
