The Building Blitz: New Gyms, Steakhouses, and Shops Transforming Killeen/Harker Heights
A growth spurt in Harker Heights and Killeen means more choices when shopping and eating out.
Various Construction Projects are Underway in Central Texas
If it seems like there is a lot of construction underway in our area, it is because there are a bunch of new businesses planning to make the Harker Heights/Killeen area home. Whether you are into working out, eating out or shopping...there will soon be more places for you to experience all of the above.
Harker Heights – Crunch Fitness
It won’t be ready in time for your New Year’s Resolution to get in shape, but according to KXXV,a 40,000 square foot Crunch Fitness is under construction in Harker Heights near I-14 and should be open for business in 2026. You will no longer have an excuse for not working out. This gym will have personal trainers, babysitting services, and group classes. Like I said...no excuse for not getting in shape.
Killeen- Longhorn Steakhouse
This is Texas, so anytime you can eat a steak, it is a good thing. A new Longhorn Steakhouse is in the works in Killeen between Sam's Club and Chuy's.
Killeen Mall
I love malls and I hate to see so many of them closing, so I am thrilled to hear that Killeen Mall is welcoming new tenants. According to KXXV, HomeGoods, T.J. Max and Five Below are nearing completion on the south side of the property.
Killeen- QuickTrip
Even though I love Buc-ees, QT is still one of my favorite gas stations. It is a food heaven and like its name, you can get in and out of there in no time. A new QT location is under construction at Rosewood Drive and Central Texas Expressway in Killeen. The City of Killeen told KXXV that "approximately 260 businesses have received a Certificate of Occupancy this year, reflecting continued growth and investment in Killeen.”
