Copperas Cove School Zone Enforcement

School kicks off next week in Copperas Cove and throughout Central Texas and the Copperas Cove Police Department is reminding drivers that school zone laws will start on Monday, August 22. Expect additional officers on duty during morning and afternoon school zone areas.

A couple of quick reminders:

• SPEED LIMITS You must decrease speed during morning and afternoon hours in school zone areas marked by signs and flashing signals
• PHONE CALLS Cell phones are not allowed to be used unless the vehicle is stopped or using a hands free device.
• TEXT MESSAGING You are not allowed to use a wireless device to view, send, or compose an electronic message or use any other apps while operating a motor vehicle in a school zone.
