Pre-Holiday Declutter: Copperas Cove Helps You Get Ready for Guests and Gifts
Its time to clean house in Copperas Cove!
City-Wide Fall Clean Up
Many of us are doing the Fall version of Spring cleaning as we transition into the holiday season, but some items in our homes cannot be tossed out in the trash. This is where the Copperas Cove Solid Waste Department saves the day.
Copperas Cove City-Wide Fall Clean-Up, B.O.P.A and Shred Event
The Copperas Cove Solid Waste Department will hold its annual City-Wide Fall Clean-Up, B.O.P.A. (Batteries, Oil, Paint, Antifreeze), and Shred event Saturday, November 15 from 8am to noon. With proof of residency, residents and business owners in Copperas Cove can drop off the equivalent of two pick-up truck loads of trash at no cost at Solid Waste, 2605 S FM-116.
Items Accepted at the Copperas Cove Event
Acceptable items at Saturday’s event include regular household trash, recycling, brush and yard waste, along with items that are not picked up at the curb. Appliances, cooking oil, and B.O.P.A. (Batteries, Oil, Paint, Antifreeze) will be accepted along with tires. However, there will be a charge per tire. Computers, printers, and monitors will also be accepted. Construction debris will not be accepted during this event.
Sensitive Item Shredding
This year’s event will also give residents the opportunity to shred personal paperwork (pay stubs, tax information, etc.). Central Texas Shredding Secure Data Destruction will be on site accepting paper, hard drives, thumb drives, and cell phones (with batteries removed). Binders must be removed from papers before shredding. Residents are only allowed to shred personal items that do not exceed four banker sized boxes or five grocery size bags.
