Fort Hood Soldiers Among 20 Arrested in Prostitution Sting
The Bell County Sheriff's Department says 20 men have been arresting in a prostitution sting focused on Salado and Killeen.
KWTX reports that 13 of the 20 men ended up being Fort Hood Soldiers.
A joint effort between the Bell County Sheriff's office and the McLennan County Sheriff took place over the period of a couple weeks. Police placed ads on a website to attract individuals who may be interested in buying sex.
The sting took place in two separate hotels as police waited for the men responding to the ads. Bell County Sheriff Eddy Lange told KWTX that, "We're certainly putting everyone on notice that this type of behavior will not be tolerated in Bell County."
The Fort Hood soldiers ranged in rank from private to major. All of the men arrested are charged with solicitation of prostitution.
