Free COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Waco
Now that the vaccine for COVID-19 has been created, doses are becoming available to eligible candidates.
According to a press release from the City of Waco, 1,500 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine has been delivered to McLennan County.
In order to receive a vaccine, you must set up an appointment and meet the requirements made by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS). Those eligible will meet the guidelines set by Phases 1A and 1B.
The free clinic begins on Tuesday, January 12 and will take place at the Waco Convention Center (100 Washington Avenue, downtown Waco).
The vaccine will be administered in two doses. The second dose should be administered 28 days after the first. While you do not need to return to the same provider who administered your first dose, you will need to receive the same brand of vaccine for the second dose.
If you need a COVID-19 test in McLennan county, you can receive one for free and without insurance. This week's free testing will take place at the Waco ISD Stadium, 1401 South New Road, January 11 through 15.
Organizers ask that you not eat, drink, or brush your teeth for at least half an hour before being tested.
