Free Fishing Program Begins at Texas State Parks
Who's ready to pull some fish out of the water? Texas Parks and Wildlife are ready to let you do just that without a fishing license. It's park of an initiative to get Texans to spend more time in our state parks.
The way the plan works is that when you pay your admission to visit a state park, you are ready to bait a hook! Your paid admission is all it takes to enjoy the year-round program that applies to rivers, creeks, banks, piers within the state park of your choice.
Many state parks also have fishing equipment that you can rent if you don't have your own so load up the car with the kids and enjoy!
Bag and length limits still apply. With 70 state parks across Texas, you'll find a fishing hole near you. Texas Parks and Wildlife also offer fishing lessons if you need a little help.
