Gatesville Girl Seeks Shoe Donations to Help Pay for Service Animal
Gatesville teen Emma Lasater is hoping you can help her acquire a service animal by looking through your closet and donating shoes.
Our News Partners at KWTX have shared this young girls story, and we wanted to spread the word as well. Emma is 13-years-old and suffers from hemiplegic migraines that often leave her speechless and motionless for hours at a time. She is in need of a service dog.
For every 2500 pairs of shoes Emma collects, 4 Paws for ability takes $1000 dollars off the price of her service dog. Emma's future service dog will cost about $17,000 dollars.
That's a lot of shoes! Lets all take a look in our closets and see if we can help! Emma wants to grow up to be a doctor or a veterinarian. She is the sweetest thing. Emma lives in Mansfield according to KWTX, but spends the summers with her family in Gatesville.
Emma spends her days painting rocks that tell her story, and then she leaves them around town to help raise awareness and spread the word about the shoe donations. This photo makes we want to donate the shoes I'm wearing right now!
The donations are due by July 31st. For more information visit Emma's facebook group by typing in the hashtag #EmmaStrong on facebook.
