Can I get a triple-alright?

Mathew McConaughey announced Friday that he's teaming up with some of the biggest names in music for a virtual benefit concert to help Texans still rebuilding and recovering in the wake of Winter Storm Uri.

"We're Texas" will be hosted on McConaughey's YouTube channel Sunday, March 21 at 7PM Central. 100% of donations collected during the concert, dubbed a "virtual revival", will go the Just Keep Livin' Foundation's Texas Relief Fund, which McConaughey and his wife, Camila, run together.

Check out this list of music giants involved:

  • George Strait
  • Don Henley
  • Willie Nelson
  • Khalid
  • Miranda Lambert
  • Gary Clark Jr.
  • Kelly Clarkson
  • Post Malone
  • Randy Rogers
  • Kirk Franklin
  • Leon Bridges
  • Lukas Nelson
  • Lyle Lovett
  • Parker McCollum

That's one fantastic lineup, and more guests are expected to join. Chip and Joanna Gaines are going to be involved as well.

I love it when people with star power use that influence for good, and McConaughey is really rallying for his home state and helping organizations helping Texas get back on her feet after February's devastating winter weather that left many without power or water for days and even weeks.

McConaughey sat down with the Today Show's Al Roker this week for an interview about the work that needs to be done, and told Roker that the musicians he called to help with this benefit concert didn't even have to take time to think about it.

"Everybody I've called, within the first two minutes...'I'm in'. Haven't had to call anyone back," McConaughey said.

More guests, including the Jonas Brothers and Selena Gomez, were teased in the Today Show interview.

There's been speculation lately that McConaughey might consider a gubernatorial run, and he's dropped some vague hints about his intentions. Whatever he decides to do, it's good to see a Texas native who's enjoyed enormous success give back to the Lone Star State and bring so many others on board.

Plus we're always down for anything George Strait's gonna show up to!

Say it with me: "Alright, alright, alright!"
