International Aerial Surf Competition is Coming Back to Waco
It was a smash hit last year, so it's coming back again this year.
The folks at Stab High have announced the return of the Aerial Surf Competition at the BSR Surf Resort in Waco.
It's going to feature 24 of the world's top aerial surfers and they'll be vying to win $25,000 in a winner take all competition.
For those of you who don't know, Stab High is a progressively unique surfing competition where event-goers of all ages enjoy an up-close and personal experience watching and cheering on the surfers from the edge of BSR’s wave pool, while enjoying music, food and beverages, art installments, fun on the beach, and exclusive merchandise.
World-renowned surfers participating in this year’s event include Chippa Wilson, Noa Deane, Dion Agius, Nathan Florence, Eithan Osborne, and Mason Ho.
Since it's not like surfers to stay in one place, the event is moving forward with some new events including the Ladybirds Division
This will be an invitational aerial competition for 15-and under female surfers. They include Skye Brown, Sierra Kerr, Caitlin Simmers, and Bella Kenworthy.
First and second place winners will advance to the 2019 Australian Stab High and the Ladybirds’ first place winner will be awarded a 12-month Vans Flow contract.
Stab High 2019 kicks off on June 29th from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm in Waco at the BSR Surf Resort. Cost of general admission is $41.50 and $175 for a VIP experience including complimentary food and beverage, gift bag and access to the VIP deck. Children ages 12 and under receive free entry.
As they like to say...wait, there's more.
Stab High 2019 welcomes the return of the Vans Acid Drop hosted by Nathan Fletcher. With this competition, the surfers will attempt to jump from the top of the wave pool's 12-foot concrete wall straight onto a wave.
