Get ready to crank up that Texas heat and let the music take over. The summer concert season is coming and I love it. It's always been exciting for me. That's when all the big names come out and play. It doesn't matter if it's a festival or an indoor venue, as long as it's live and I'm there in person - sign me up.

Concerts are a big deal. Many of us can remember the first show we went to. A good friend of mine remembers hers as being Milli Vanilli. Your first concert sticks with you. As adults, we share these experiences with our children. You make memories and have stories to tell. Live shows are like no other experience and I've been fortunate enough to catch some pretty big names. Check out some of my favorite all-time concerts below. Have you caught any of these shows live?

Various Goodies

Try and catch some good classic acts this summer. Pictured above are some other favorites including Hank Williams Jr., The Eagles, Genesis, The Doobie Brothers, The Beach Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Ozzy Osbourne.

The summer lineup of shows is already started to take shape. Be sure and check out those concerts coming to the Dallas area. It may be a bit of a drive from Abilene but road trips are half the fun.

Concerts, socials, and dances have been going on for decades. Look below for some legendary performances stemming back to the 1800s.
