Marshall Police Searching For Suspect In Shoes Theft
Shoes. Shoes are a commodity that everyone needs. From flip-flops to athletic shoes to dress shoes to casual ones, we need them to protect our feet from the harsh surfaces that we walk on in East Texas. We also need them to make us look stylish too. The more stylish the sneakers are the more off-the-chart, stupidly expensive they become.
Designer sneakers are in demand and come with a hefty price tag. There are those out there who feel like they can just take these designer shoes and any others they want without paying for them. That's exactly what happened to a sporting goods store in Marshall, Texas on December 9th of 2023.
A burglar decided to break into a building in the 1800 block of N East End Blvd. and attempt to make off with a load of sneakers home for himself or maybe as Christmas presents.
Surveillance video of the burglary of the building was released by the Marshall Police Department and authorities have turned to the public to see if anyone recognizes this suspect or has heard him bragging about his brazen burglary.
The video shows the male suspect dressed out in typical burglar attire - a black hoodie, black jeans, blue gloves, and some work boots. During his burglary of the building, he pulls out some shoes of his choice and then looks through some more, but they're apparently not the right size and he puts them back.
This stealthy cat-like burglar makes his way across the floor by crawling like Spider-Man but takes his time as he lies low and looks up a couple of times to catch a couple of glimpses at the surveillance camera trained down on his every move.
Submit your tips to Crime Stoppers
If you happen to recognize this burglar from the video or any other way, you are urged to call Marshall/Harrison County Crime Stoppers at 903.935.4575 with your tip. As always, you can remain anonymous and your tip could lead to a cash reward.
One day, criminals will learn that crime doesn't pay. Until that day though, it'll take us looking at videos like this and identifying the culprit.
