Dr. Hennesses says that individuals need to consider the dangers of this fungus because they are out there. When people get symptoms they often get mixed diagnoses or even find themselves with the disease being undetected. This particular fungus is not like any other fungus that you might be familiar with, this one allows you not only to lose shortness of breath but also causes severe brain swelling, which of course can be deadly. Texans need to be aware of this particular fungus because, this fungi grows in warm temperatures, which means when the climate changes can help the threat of it spreading the disease more and we all know the great state of Texas is scorching, especially during the summertime.

Blastomyces which is the name of the disease should not be taken lightly there have been several cases where this disease has spread through the lungs, bones, joints, and even skin leaving painful lesions, and boils. There is no real prevention as of right now on how to control or even destroy the disease, which puts Texas and the United States in a very vulnerable state for a possible pandemic. We ask that everyone please do not ignore the signs if you become short of breath or you think you have the slightest pain please get in touch with the doctor immediately.
