New And Old Texas Drivers Constantly Make This Risky Mistake
It is not as though driving has gotten more complicated over the years, if anything all of the available technology makes it nearly infinitely easier to get around the Killeen-Temple, Texas area. It almost feels like we are down to about two final skills to master when it comes to maneuvering the vast roadways of the Lone Star State.
What risky mistake to drivers in Texas continue to make?
No surprise here, but one of the worst driving habits that, what feels like, countless Texas drivers cannot seem to comprehend directly effects the other great obstacle in the overall success of automotive travel. Problem number one is failing to use the turn signal, and that is followed closely by a lack of any logical application to merging.
What happens when you don't use your turn signal when driving in Texas?
Honestly, it is starting to feel like nothing happens when people break the turn signal law, and yes it is a law. The fine for failing to use your turn signal can be a fine starting around $200 all the way up to serious punishment depending on its contribution to an accident and the severity of that accident.
My number one pet peeve is probably people that don't abide by the 100 foot rule. Law says you must begin using your signal at least 100 feet before your turn, and continue using it even if you are in a turn only lane.
There is literally no reason to turn on your signal when you have already reached your turn. Trust me, the people behind you have already figured out what you are doing, in fact they may have reached that conclusion before you did.
