Child Fatally Shot At Temple, Texas School

Temple, Texas was rocked with the report of a barely one year old child getting shot on the Charter Oak Elementary School playground this past Monday, March 11th. The Temple Police Department are searching for any information or leads.

At this time, Temple PD is asking for everyone in the area of the Belton Independent School District facility to please check any video their homes or businesses may have captured at the time, and submit it for inspection as nobody has been taken into custody for this senseless tragedy.

Temple PD did say in a statement that they do not believe there is any immediate danger to the public.

What was been shared at this time is a family was enjoying a picnic behind the elementary building, and the child had most likely been playing on the playground when they suffered a gunshot wound on school property. The one year old was transported to the hospital, and was later pronounced dead according to this KCEN article.

The child's body was then scheduled to be transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office, and will undergo an autopsy and full forensic inspection. One can hope that some information already collected by the Temple PD is sensitive, and that is why so many questions have almost no answers at this time.
