Are Christmas Lights On Vehicles In Texas Legal?
Tis the season ... for tons of lights and decorations on just about everything. Does Texas law allow you to put Christmas lights on your car though?
Stickers and magnets and windshield paint, sure. I've even seen cars with reindeer antlers on top and elves legs dangling from trunks.
Can you get your vehicle "lit" and drive it around without getting a ticket? It kinda depends ...
I've seen some people go crazy with the decorations on their house and some people go full Griswold, decorating everything they can get their hands on. The house, the yard, the dog house, the dog, even their vehicles.

Is It Legal To Have Christmas Lights On Your Car In Texas?
Pretty much, yes. There isn't a law that says you can't anyway but you should keep this in mind:
A motor vehicle lamp or illuminating device, other than a headlamp, spotlamp, auxiliary lamp, turn signal lamp, or emergency vehicle, tow truck, or school bus warning lamp, that projects a beam with an intensity brighter than 300 candlepower shall be directed so that no part of the high-intensity portion of the beam strikes the roadway at a distance of more than 75 feet from the vehicle. - TX DPS
That "intensity brighter than 300 candlepower" part means you can light up but don't use any that are too bright. Be careful with the colors too, especially flashing red lights. Red, blue and white are pretty much limited to emergency vehicles only and could, possibly, get you a ticket.
