Katy, Texas Family Alleges Button Battery Found In Child’s Burger
A very scary situation has been alleged to happened in Rainforest Café located in Katy, Texas. Here's what is known currently.
Details Of The Incident
According to Click2Houston, a family was dining at the eatery on Saturday, December 2nd. Marga Matthews, Matthews' son, and his daughters were dining at the establishment when one of the daughters, Isabella, spat out an unidentified object. The son of Matthews examined the unidentified item, discovering it to be a button battery.
Further inspection of the food item, which was a burger, revealed another battery in it. The son alerted the staff, which they then threw away the food. The son also contacted Katy police to investigate the situation. Click2Houston also
Click2Houston reports the daughter, Isabella, was taken to Memorial Hermann Children’s Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to remove the button battery from her body.
Response From Rainforest Café
According to Rainforest Café, represented by Landry's for their public relations, released this statement from the Landry's COO, Keith Beitler:
“We are as concerned as everyone is on this report. We have launched a full-scale investigation into this matter to find out what really happened and have no updates to share at this time.”
Pending further investigation, Marga Matthews stated to Click2Houston that there needs to be serious consequences for what happened.
“This is very upsetting and whoever did this needs to go to jail. Not a slap on the hand. They need to go to jail because they could have killed my granddaughter," as she stated to the news organization.
