Killeen Teenager Shot inside Home
Authorities in Central Texas are looking for the individuals responsible for the murder of a teenager in his own home.
According to a press release from the Killeen Police Department, on Friday at approximately 1:40 AM, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Camp Cooper Drive.
Police found Damien Xavier Rocha-Torres, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted to save Rocha-Torres' life until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately Rocha-Torres did not survive and was pronounced deceased at 2:12 AM by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin at the scene.
Rocha-Torres is said to have been inside one of the rooms with a few people that he knew. His family was also inside the residence. A loud noise raised suspicion, and when family members went to investigate they found that Rocha-Torres had been shot.
The acquittances, and presumed shooters, escaped through a window. Authorities are asking anyone who may have information about this case to come forward. Please contact Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477) or go online at www.bellcountycrimestoppers.com.
An autopsy has been ordered for Rocha-Torres at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
