BREAKING: Ex-Killeen Teacher Indicted In Inappropriate Relations Case

New information has been released regarding in the case of a former high school teacher in Killeen, Texas. Here's what we know at the time of writing.

Update On The Case Of Leslie Renee James

In January of 2024, it was reported that James was taken into custody, and her bail set at $50,000. James stood accused of having an unsuitable relationship with an unnamed 18 year old student. Concerns where first raised in November of 2023, as KWTX reported special victim unit detectives were alerted to the situation.

According to FOX 44, at the time of the accusation, The Killeen Independent School District stated investigations began once the claim was brought to their attention. FOX 44 states that all evidence found was given to law enforcement.

Ofelia Miramontez, the spokesperson for Killeen PD, told FOX 44 that the Special Victims Unit that inquires found that the 18 year old male student was invited to the home of James, where alleged sexual contact between James and student occurred.

James Formally Charged With The Crime Of An Improper Relationship With A Student

On March 21st, 2024, FOX 44 revealed that James was indicted on the charge via a grand jury in Bell County.
