Kohl's joins the list of retailers that have made the decision to close their stores on Thanksgiving day.

According  to News 6, the store made the announcement as part of its plans reflecting "a year like no other."

Walmart, Target, and Best Buy have all made the decision to close on Thanksgiving day due to the unusual circumstances from the outbreak of COVID-19.

Kohl's says the customers safety is very important and expects customers to shop earlier this year.  Normally the retailer would open it's doors at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving day to give off Black Friday shopping early.

In a released statement Kohl's says, “We are deeply appreciative of how our team of Kohl’s associates have shown up to serve our customers through this pandemic and know that they will continue to show Kohl's at our best throughout the holidays.”

The workers definitely deserve a day off to spend with family and friends and we all should be thankful for them being out there on the frontlines during this pandemic.  Thanks for all you do!
