Beat the heat by visiting this 12-acre, crystal clear lagoon this summer.

According to Land Tejas, the company behind construction for Lago Mar, the first phase of construction for the complex should be complete just in time for the summer.

Lago Mar is located off of I-45 in Texas City, and will not only boast the 12-acre lagoon, but will also feature stylish homes and 70-acres for mixed-use entertainment like a swim-up bar, beach club, and cabana pool.

This is also the first lagoon that will offer access to the public, but of course Lago Mar residents will be the first people to take a dip. If you are concerned about safety and hygiene, the lagoon is safe to swim in and the website states,

"The water in a crystal clear lagoon fully complies with the most stringent international physicochemical and microbiological water quality standards. The water quality is also monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by specially designed systems and sensors that continually report specific physicochemical and other water quality parameters through a proprietary telemetry platform, managed and operated through the cloud by the Crystal Lagoons Control Center."

Jet skiing is not allowed in the lagoon, but you will be able to kayak or paddleboard in the deeper areas of the lagoon. Again, the lagoon is 12-acres, and will be the largest lagoon in Texas, so there should be plenty of room for everyone.
