A Temple man protesting the closure of area lakes says he plans to partake in a little civil disobedience.

Bill Biggs joined Rick Smith for a special edition of “On the Dock” Wednesday evening. Mr. Biggs has been protesting at the gate of Leona Park off Highway 36 since Monday afternoon.

He spoke with Smith about the negative impact area closures are having on our servicemen and women and the community before announcing that he plans to cut the lock on the gate barring entrance to the park if the gate is not open by Friday.

The Senate today passed a measure that would fund the federal government until December 13 and raise the national debt ceiling through February 7. If the bill is approved by the House and signed by President Obama tonight, the gate at Leona Park will be open by Friday.

If not, Mr. Biggs will have his bolt cutters ready.
