GET A TASTE OF DETRIOT RIGHT HERE IN KILLEEN

When I arrived in Detroit, I was told I had to try Coney Island. It wasn't hard to find, because there is a Coney Island on every street corner in the city - I kid you not. I’ve been craving it so bad here in Killeen, but I don’t have to wish anymore because Mak Mama in Killeen, Texas is now open with authentic Detroit delicious food.

I got a chance to speak with the owner and she is an absolute delight. What I love about her is she gives you that feeling of home. She’s just a mother who wants to do right by her community and make sure that we are well fed.

I hear so many great things about this establishment and the owner's volunteer work. It's clear that she cares about her community, and is known for giving leftover food to people in need. This is the type of person we need more of in Central Texas.

If you get a chance, definitely try Mak Mama's food. She is located at 103 W. Rancier Ave. Sampling her menu is like vacationing in Detroit. She’s giving us that Motor City love and we are not complaining. Thank you Mak Mama for all you do for our community!
