The incident happened at an annual trail ride sponsored by Unified Elite Riderzz, which was advertised as a trail ride, ATV ride, and horse show on Sunday in Smith County, Texas.

Texas Trail Ride Erupts in Violence

According to witnesses, a fight started near the concert stage between trail ride groups. The fight escalated, with shots being fired into the crowd. After the shooting, some people at the event stormed the security area that had been collecting guns from attendees and got their firearms back.

Then a second and third shooting took place, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office. Multiple gunshot victims in the eastern part of the county were reported to authorities. Nbcnews.com reports investigators believe all the injuries happened during the first shooting. 5 people were treated and released from the hospital, and one remains in critical but stable condition. This incident is still under investigation.
