Alright, alright, alright, who's ready to see the legend Matthew McConaughey become Texas Governor?

According to an interview with Hugh Hewitt, McConaughey would consider a run for a political position in Texas, including governor. I am definitely here for it! Just imagine how Texas would run if we had a suave and cool man like Matthew McConaughey at the reigns.

Of course, some things would need to change a bit before McConaughey would dip his feet in.

"I don’t know. I mean, that wouldn’t be up to me," the iconic actor and Texas native said. "It would be up to the people more than it would me. I would say this. Look, politics seems to be a broken business to me right now. And when politics redefines its purpose, I could be a hell of a lot more interested."

Some people don't believe that celebrities should offer their opinions on politics, which I think is a tad ridiculous seeing as number 45 had no previous experience before his presidency. Arnold Schwarzenegger is another celebrity turned politician after he became the governor of California.

McConaughey has a pretty simple explanation on how celebrities can become overnight politicians.

"And I remember saying well look, regardless of his (Trump) politics, in the very first, just the first question, what do we say in America is successful? What do we give credit and respect? Well, the top two things are money and fame. And I said guys, just on a very base level, Trump has those, so I don’t know why we should be so surprised that he got elected. "

So do money and fame really run America? I'd have to agree with McConaughey on that one, but I would love to see McConaughey in politics. That's a man I'd stand behind. What are your thoughts? Could you see Matthew McConaughey as a leader?
