Three days ago, Noah posted an article about a missing kangaroo. Unfortunately, Rowdy the Kangaroo is still MIA at the moment. Rowdy escaped from his enclosure last Wednesday. Rowdy lived on a farm in Sealy, Texas, and if you were wondering, yes, it is legal to own a kangaroo in the state of Texas.

There is a huge search party out there for Rowdy. People with drones, the game wardens, and even a radio DJ are on the lookout for this beloved marsupial.

According to Marsha Matus The last sighting of Rowdy the kangaroo was on Wednesday Morning, December 18th, around 4:15 AM. He was in Seeley on Pyka Rd hopping towards I-10 behind a truck stop.

Rowdy is not the first kangaroo to go missing in the state of Texas. In March 2023, an article from Texas Monthly asked "What's Up with All the Kangaroos on the Loose in Texas"?  It appears that Texas may have the highest population of kangaroo pets even though there are twelve other states in the US that it is legal to own kangaroos in. It's crazy to think that this isn't the first time a missing kangaroo is a news story in Texas.

Marsha asks that if you see Rowdy the kangaroo please do not approach him. He is shy, and he will run away. You would be hard pressed to catch up to him because kangaroos can reach speeds up to 45 mph. If you do see the Kangaroo please reach out to the Department of Public Safety at 281-517-1220, or the Austin County Sheriff's Office at 979-865-3111.
