Niagara Bottling Reveals Plans To Fix Bad Smell Caused By Plant
Niagara Bottling in Temple has recently gotten complaints for the smell it's been producing. Residents around the area have made it known that the smell is bothering them. Will the plant do anything to make the smell go away?
Beginnings Of The Issue With The Smell
As reported by KCEN, the problem began around seven years ago, which was around the time that the plant began operating. Since then, the smell hasn't stopped permeating the area. It hasn't been easy for residents to deal with it.

Amy Shine, a resident in the area, told KCEN:
“It smells like sewer, rotten eggs...It’s gut-wrenching. Sometimes it makes you want to vomit. It’s embarrassing — you don’t even want people coming over."

However, it looks like Niagara Bottling has taken notice of the situation.
Niagara Bottling Vows To Make The Smell Go Away For Good
Niagara Bottling reached out to KCEN to tell the news station what they are planning to do about the odor. Part of the statement said the following:
"We have already made operational adjustments, added additional odor control measures, and are working with a wastewater specialist to ensure the issue is resolved and does not recur. Our latest action includes installing a wastewater treatment enclosure and air treatment system that will be completed in February 2026."
But, for Amy and other residents of the area, if this doesn't work, they will continue their crusade to make sure things change for the better. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
