SCARY! COVID-era Cars Now Recalled in Texas by Major Manufacturer
We all have the urge to take the open road in Texas at some point, right? Just picture it: the temperature at 75 degrees, the windows down, blasting your favorite song on the radio...it all sounds heavenly. We all love the idea of a drive on a perfect day, but the latest Nissan recall is a snap back to reality.
Nissan Issues Recall Due to Major Steering Issue
If you own a 2020-2022 Nissan Sentra, the company is recommending you have it looked at by a dealer or mechanic soon, because a defective part could snap and cause you to lose control of your vehicle.
Nissan Recalls For Texas Drivers
If you drive a Nissan Sentra in the state of Texas, this recall affects you. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and reported by CBS, Sentras from the year 2020 to 2022 are dealing with issues in regards to tie rods.
Defect Could Cause Loss of Control, Crash
The NHTSA reports the front suspension tire rods are the main cause of issues. They report that there is the chance that they could break, which could cause loss of control of the vehicle and lead to a potential crash.
How Do I Know If Something's Wrong?
NHTSA reports that drivers of Sentras should pay attention to their steering wheels. If it's off center or generates a vibration, an inspection should be done by a dealership. The rods will be replaced if determined to be bent or broken.
Nissan Will Need To Engineer New Parts, Then Let You Know
New rods for the vehicle will need to be designed, and Nissan themselves will send out mail to let car owners know when the parts are available for replacement.
We will report any new information if it becomes available.
